Clearly, according to Scripture, one must be born again to enter heaven. (see John 3:1-21) Salvation comes no other way than through Jesus Christ our only Lord and Redeemer. We don't enter by our baptism. We can't come in by our religion. We will not enter by our good works. Although good works are pleasing to the Lord, when we present them to Him as some form of merit to get into His heaven, He says they stink. (see Isaiah 64:6) His Son did the only good and acceptable work at the cross. (see Isaiah chapter 53 and especially verse 10) "The just shall live by faith." (Habakkuk 2:4, Romans 1:17, Galations 3:11, Hebrews 10:38) So much to those words! God only justifies, or accepts a sinner, based on the object of the sinner's faith. You can place your faith in many things. But if your faith is in anything other than Jesus on the last day, you will perish from the presence of God in eternity. He only accepts faith in His Son Jesus and what He did for us at the cross. There is only one thing the sinner can do to be accepted by God, and that is to repent and believe in the only true God, Jesus and Him crucified and raised to life on the third day - as revealed in the Scriptures. Read! Taste and see that the Lord is good! Once you have found Him, you will never be the same!
